COLLAB x FIYA HOUSE
Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of working with Fiya House - a popping dance crew based in London, formed in 2012. The track we created Prana (feat.Suvi) is now out on all digital platforms.
It was an amazing experience seeing the dance live that was created to my music. It was brilliant to push my own boundaries into making a dance track and creating the crazy build was no doubt my favourite part of the process alongside working with Suvi and mastering engineer Katie Tavini. I collaborated with choreographers Brooke Milliner and Dickson Mbi to make a track for Prana for performance at Breakin’ Convention 2019 at Sadlers Wells in London.
The dancers have shared their inspiration behind the concept of Prana and what they drew on personally to create their character in the dance.
What was the inspiration for Prana?
The inspiration for Prana was about positive and negative emotions. We all discussed our own personal events/situations we have had in our lives or are experiencing now. This inspired the movement of each individual dancer.

Character - Positive thoughts that echoed within the mind of the protagonist (Rajib). These echos projected hope, faith, love and understanding against terrors of negativity within a challenging phase of life.

Although, some might perceive the show to be more like a manifestation of my characters torment and hope. The tension between the two easily lent itself to the situation at the time with my grandad, who was in the process of passing.
